How to Clean Bar Patio Furniture

If you have bar patio furniture then you probably want to know how to keep it clean. There are a few different materials that your furniture could be. It could be; wicker, wood, iron or plastic. For each of these types, there are unique ways to keep them clean.

Furniture that is placed outside is exposed to the elements of weather. In communities where the weather changes from hot to cold and sunny to snow, it can have an impact on the wear and tear of the surface. Even in areas where the weather stays warm, the heat, sun and rain can still impact the surface of the patio furniture.

For basic plastic furniture patio furniture, you can keep it clean by using a mild soap and warm water. It may have to be cleaned once a month and hosed off to try. The great thing about plastic furniture is that once it is rinsed, it dries very fast, which means that you can sit on it shortly after. If your guests are coming over and you have just cleaned it, you can simply wipe it dry with a towel.

Wicker furniture can be cleaned by a marine varnish or by painting it once in a while. You can water proof this material but it will just prolong its life for a short amount of time. This furniture should be moved indoors during off seasons or covered in the rain.

Cast iron furniture can be cleaned by using soap and water and then rinsed. Ensure that it is thoroughly dry to help prevent rust. If rust does appear, you can try scraping it and painting the spots that were exposed.

When you have outdoor patio furniture, it is important to keep it clean and do it regularly. When you do this, your backyard will look great and you will actually want to use it!
